These terms apply when you use the Cargoa website and when you request quotes or bookings from our team. By using this website or sending us a request, you accept these terms. Please read them carefully together with our privacy policy.

About us

Cargoa is a freight forwarder based at Waalhaven Zuidzijde 21, 3089 JH Rotterdam, Netherlands. We arrange the transport of goods by sea, air, road and rail, and offer warehousing and customs clearance.

Use of this website

The information on this website is general and may change without notice. Quotes are only binding once confirmed in writing by a Cargoa planner.

Transit times, coverage and examples on this website are indications based on normal conditions. They are not a promise for a specific shipment. You may use this website for your own business purposes, but you may not copy, misuse or try to disrupt it, or use automated tools to collect its content.

Quotes and bookings

A quote is based on the cargo details you provide. If the weight, size, route or timing changes, the price may change too. Bookings are confirmed by a written booking confirmation.

Validity of quotes

Unless the quote states otherwise, it is valid for 14 days. Freight rates, fuel surcharges, currency rates and port charges can change quickly, so we may update a quote before the booking is confirmed.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for giving correct and complete information about the goods, including their nature, weight, dimensions, value and any dangerous goods classification. Goods must be packed and labelled for the planned transport, and you must provide the documents and licences needed for export and import.

Changes and cancellations

If you change or cancel a booking, costs already made or committed by us, such as carrier booking fees, cancellation charges or waiting time, are charged to you.

Prices and payment

Prices are in euros and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. Duties, taxes, inspections, storage, demurrage and detention are charged at cost when they apply. Invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date unless we agreed other terms in writing.

Transit times

We plan every shipment to arrive on time, but weather, port congestion, customs checks, strikes and other events outside our control can cause delays. Transit times are therefore estimates and not guaranteed delivery dates, unless we agreed otherwise in writing.

Liability

Our liability for loss or damage to goods follows the applicable international conventions and our standard trading conditions, which we share with every quote.

Depending on the transport, these include the CMR Convention for road transport, the Montreal Convention for air freight and the Hague-Visby Rules for sea freight. Our forwarding services are carried out under the Dutch Forwarding Conditions (FENEX), which limit our liability. We are not liable for indirect loss such as lost profit or production stops. We advise you to insure valuable cargo, and we can arrange cargo insurance on request.

Force majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, strikes, government measures, cyber attacks or disruptions at ports, airports and carriers.

Intellectual property

The texts, images, logos and design of this website belong to Cargoa or its licensors. You may not reuse them without our written permission.

Links to other websites

This website may link to websites of carriers, authorities and other third parties. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. The terms that apply to a booking are the terms valid on the date of the booking confirmation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes go to the competent court in Rotterdam.
